FAQs
Is replacing existing fittings with LEDs always a like-for-like job?
No. Check light distribution, controls, mounting, electrical compatibility and any emergency function. A change in technology does not remove the need to assess the installation and intended lighting result.
Can lighting controls be added without replacing every fitting?
The existing equipment and wiring determine the options. Assess compatibility and required functions before selecting controls or assuming that every fitting must be changed.
How are energy savings assessed?
Compare the existing power and operating pattern with the proposed arrangement, stating the assumptions. Actual savings need operating evidence after the change and should not be presented as guaranteed by a product choice.
Can occupied areas remain in use during the work?
The programme needs to address access equipment, isolation and protection of users. Agree phasing and temporary arrangements for the specific space rather than assuming a fitting replacement causes no disruption.
