Changes in occupancy, equipment, glazing or room layout also justify reviewing the existing arrangement. Adding another unit without understanding the heat load or controls can leave the original problem unresolved. What the work can include

Choosing the right arrangement

Air conditioning and fresh-air ventilation perform different functions. A room unit that recirculates indoor air does not establish adequate ventilation. Heating capability, where provided by the chosen system, also needs to match the intended operating conditions.

Provide floor plans, room uses, occupancy patterns and details of equipment generating heat. Describe any recent electrical, ceiling or layout changes and whether neighbouring rooms have the same symptoms.
Access planning includes roof or external plant positions, occupied rooms and the route between units. Identify the person authorising shutdowns and work outside the demise. Refrigerant records help establish the equipment's separate servicing and leak-check requirements; a generic annual booking is not a substitute for reviewing the actual system.
How the work proceeds
We establish the affected spaces, review the records and arrange the survey or diagnostic visit. The findings lead to a defined repair, maintenance task or design proposal. Installation planning coordinates electrical work, pipe routes, drainage and penetrations before equipment is ordered.
Work ends with the relevant checks and commissioning for the agreed scope. The site contact receives operating instructions, records of the work and outstanding recommendations. We explain controller settings and schedules so local users can operate the system without repeatedly overriding the intended arrangement. Further work receives a clear description and authorisation route.
Cost, timing and disruption
Capacity, unit numbers, pipe lengths, access equipment, electrical alterations and drainage routes affect cost. A replacement in an accessible room differs from changing rooftop equipment or working above an occupied ceiling. Repair quotations also depend on diagnosis and the availability of compatible parts.
Plan installation around occupancy and seasonal demand. Identify the rooms that lose cooling during work and any interim operating arrangements needed. Maintenance scope should specify the equipment and tasks covered, reporting detail and treatment of additional repairs. This makes different proposals comparable and keeps a low initial price from hiding an incomplete scope.

Frequently asked questions
Does air conditioning bring fresh air into a room?
Not every system does. Many room units recirculate indoor air. Establish the ventilation provision separately and coordinate it with the cooling requirement.
Should an older unit always be replaced?
Compare the defect, overall condition, repair options, parts availability and suitability for the room. Age alone does not explain whether a repair or replacement is the better instruction.
Is servicing the same as an F-gas leak check?
No. Routine servicing and applicable refrigerant leak checks are distinct requirements. The equipment details and refrigerant information establish the relevant programme.
Can work be phased across occupied rooms?
Yes. The programme identifies which equipment and areas are affected at each stage, including shared outdoor units and the restrictions they create.
